About Sassy Foods

Sassy Foods is a vegetarian in San Francisco, California. It is listed at 2626 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, which places it among the local businesses of San Francisco that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as dim sum restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 10:30 amβ2:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Sassy Foods at (415) 468-9333; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is imperialgardensf.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 51 reviews, which is a strong result for a vegetarian in San Francisco and suggests consistent service.
San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We love the variety of options for vegan dim sum, we ordered 9 dishes. The only dish I did not enjoy was the bao, it is slimey inside, I'll stick to Loving Hut for that dish. I wish the eggless tarts and baked bbq were available, we'd have ordered those too. Only took off a star for service because it took awhile to get our bill and a lot of smoke was coming into the restaurant, we were in the farthest corner away from door but the smoke was still very strong.

The best vegan dim sum in SF. Everything is delicious! I order too many things for takeout every quarter or so. Thereβs takeout/delivery on the Imperial Garden Seafood App but also on Uber Eats. Iβm glad this is in an accessible spot but I wish they were available for more hours!

We hired Sassy Foods to cater lunch for our event and couldn't be happier. Menny was incredibly helpful and communicative throughout the whole process, which made planning so easy. The food was delicious, and we especially loved having a great vegan dim sum option! Highly recommend.

Love, love, love this place! Wish I could come more often, but vegan dim sum/yum cha is a very special occasion. As a young vegetarian->vegan, going out to eat with my mom and friends meant generally only having a handful of choices, that almost always being Buddha's delight, or gai lan, steamed veggies, with plain rice. Sassy Foods has brought me back to my childhood with delights I haven't had in years, but my omni friends and family have agreed that it still tastes great, and has the spirit of authentic dim sum in each dish. One time, we even got these pear-shaped things and my mom said she hardly sees them outside of HK. Pictured and thoughts upon... Lo mai gai/sticky rice: The gold flake makes this feel so fancy and elevated. This was my absolute favorite dim sum morsel hands down as a kid, pre-veg. And this vegan lo mai gai is cooked just right, when steamed in the lotus leaf it becomes a very aromatic and unique flavor. I just wish it had some vegan yolk of sorts, because that is the best part, but very hard to replicate. Har gow/shrimp dumplings: The yellow wrapper has a nice chewy quality to it, a little thicker than I remember har gow to be, but this balances well with
